I am THRILLED to announce that I’ve been selected as one of the top ten vendors in the Photography Category and a finalist in the Chesapeake Bridal Awards!

From Monday, January 21st to Wednesday January 30th – voting will take place on Bayside Bride and Charm City Wed’s Facebook Pages! Each voter may submit two ballots, one per Facebook Page, to be counted towards selecting a winner!

Great news!

Two of my images placed in the most recent Wedding Photojournalism Association (WPJA) Quarterly Contest.

These contests are a true reflection of the creativity and skill of the incredible photojournalists that are members of the WPJA, and I’m honored to be a part of it.

Madeline + Ian had an awesome wedding, and I’m so excited that two of their images were selected.

Hey Everyone! I hope you have some nice plans for the long weekend. I have my first wedding of the year tomorrow, and I couldn’t be more excited! Woo Hoo!

I have some great little news! WeddingWire just announced that I’ve won a 2009 Bride’s Choice Award!

The Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and honors vendors that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US.

Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.

What a great way to get back into blogging!

I found out today that two of my images places in the latest WPJA contest. Not just placed, but both were top 10′s!

This is such an honor, and I couldn’t be more excited. The Wedding Photojournalism Association is an amazing group to be a part of, and I am always blown away by the work produced by my peers worldwide.

And congrats to my brides featured in these two photos, Julia and Sarah!

12th in WPJA Contest

I didn’t have a lot of time to make entries into the WPJA Q4 contest because I was gearing up for Burma, but I’m glad I entered!

An image from the lovely wedding of Lucy & Matt received 12th place in the “First Dance” category. Hooray!

Congrats to everyone who placed. I am REALLY looking forward to this coming wedding season- it’s going to be a blast!

Big Wins for Me!

Hey Everyone- what a great post to break in the blog! As I was editing some wedding pics tonight, my old second shooter/good buddy Kim (who moved out to California-sadness!) called me and asked me if I had been to the WPJA site lately. I said no.

She told me I “maaaaay wanna head over there.” I didn’t see anything new. So she had to tell me herself, and I’m so happy she did- I placed in three categories! I am pumped! A 4th, an 18th, and a 19th.

This is a huge honor. This contest was judged exclusively by members of the VII Photo Agency, which is, like, amazing. I am excited they even SAW photographs that I’ve taken.

So thank you to all my couples who have let me be a part of their days- and an extra congrats to Ramona and Erica, who helped me pull down some great awards in the WPJA Q3 Contest!

One of my photos from Egypt was named a finalist in Photographer Forum Magazine’s latest contest. Woo! I got a nice certificate in the mail today and will be getting some tear sheets soon, so I can show you the page the picture will be on. If you like this photo, check out some others on my travel blog that I took on my trip last February.

WPJA Quarterly Contest

I finally got a top 10!

This picture, from Julia and Mitch’s Wedding in May, placed 9th in “Reception Ambiance” in the WPJA’s Quarterly contest. I’m very excited and quite honored to get a Top 10 in this international contest. This is only my 3rd WPJA contest.

Wedding Photojournalism Winter Contest

In my second attempt at the WPJA photo contest, I received 11th place in “Engagement Photos” and 17th place in “Transportation.” I’m really excited and honored, but at the same time I’m already geared up for the next competition, and really wanting to get a top ten.

It is still nice to be recognized by the top association in my field. The next contest can only have pictures from 2007, so it will be all new material. Wedding season starts for me on the 24th of this month. Bring it on!
